We are proud to offer CEREC®, the latest in single-visit crown technology.

CEREC® is a breakthrough computerized 3D technology that allows us to create custom dental crowns and veneers right in our office. By using this advanced technology, we can give you custom, perfectly matched and perfectly fitted dental crowns, veneers, inlays and onlays — all during a single appointment!

HOW CEREC® WORKS

STEP ONE

Digital camera scans the tooth to create a three-dimensional image. No impression needed.

STEP TWO

CEREC® 3D software then converts the image into a three dimensional model.

STEP THREE

The color is selected to accurately reflect your existing teeth to match perfectly.

STEP FOUR

The milling device replicates the 3D model on the computer within minutes.

STEP FIVE

Say hello to your new smile!

Exam & Preparation

Before you get started, your dentist will determine if CEREC® is right for you. Depending on how much healthy tooth structure you have remaining, it may be a simple filling or you may need a crown. After reviewing your options, the dentist will begin the process by administering anesthetic and preparing your tooth for restoration by removing decay and weakened tooth tissue.

Optical Impression

In order to make the desired restoration, a 3-dimensional image of the tooth that needs to be restored must be created from a digital camera scan of the tooth. This three-dimensional image will be used to create the restoration without the need to take a messy impression. This means no horrible tasting impression material for you to gag on. The computer and CEREC® 3D software then converts the digital image into a three-dimensional virtual model of the prepared tooth.

Superior training, continuing education, technology and experience are a few reasons to choose our dental office.  In 2001, Dr. Dean invested in the breakthrough CEREC System, which enables him to create and fit dental crowns and veneers for the patient many times within one single visit.  With 19 years of experience using, watching and being on the front lines of the developing technology, he enjoys applying the use of advanced technology, like the Cerec System and the Galileos 3D Advanced Imaging System to cases of implant, ortho, and rehabilitative dentistry. These are intra-oral scanners that are extremely accurate and virtually eliminate the need for those uncomfortable impressions. Recently, Dr. Dean started using a Solea laser that can restore some teeth with no anesthesia. He uses this for numerous procedures to minimize the sound of the drill, use minimal or no anesthesia, and help improve other procedures while rehabilitating the mouth.  Dr. Donnie Dean engages a team approach in providing top level services to his patients, whom he considers family. Having acquired hundreds of study hours with this technology, Dr. Donnie Dean is now a mentor at the Scottsdale and Charlotte Sirona Centers and has trained many dentist in the use of intra-oral scanners for all aspects of dentistry. 865-539-1119
